- Always ask a trusted adult before downloading apps or games: Some apps may not be safe or may collect your personal info.
- Don't share your full name, address, phone number, or school online: This keeps you safe from strangers. This information can be used to find you or misuse your identity.
- Always log out of accounts when you're done, especially on shared devices: It helps keep your accounts and information private and secure.
- Don't talk to or accept friend requests from people you don't know in real life: Not everyone online is who they say they are. Strangers online can pretend to be someone they're not.
- Only share pictures with people you know and with permission from a parent or guardian: Once a picture is online, it can be hard to control where it goes. Photos can spread quickly and be seen by the wrong people.
- Only visit websites that are trusted and appropriate for kids: Safe sites protect you from harmful or scary content and online dangers.
- Treat others with respect and kindness, just like you would in person: Being kind online helps create a positive and safe space for everyone.
- Take breaks and don't spend too much time online: Too much screen time can affect your health and mood. It affects your eyes, sleep, and more.
- Create tricky passwords and never share them with anyone except trusted adults: Strong passwords protect your accounts from being hacked.
- Make sure your profiles on social media or games are set to private: This keeps your info safe and visible only to people you know and trust.
- If someone is being mean or making you feel uncomfortable online, tell a trusted adult right away: Adults can help stop the problem and keep you safe.
