A question.. with a pinch of random

Did you know I grew up in southern California? 16 years bay-bee. And well, as all good California girls do once in a while, today I was missing the beach ._.

158copy1250copy3

But anyway...

I need YOU! Thrusts finger at computer screen… ok: for my Arizona pals, I’m looking for a tailor.. someone who can take this:

Copy of 6-9-08 03222

And make it fit my after-baby-body (it needs taking IN! hooray! heh.)… anyway a photo shoot depends on it. No I'm not getting married again.  Don't ask questions-  all will be explained in time.  Besides, I just told you.  But let me know if you or someone you know alters for cheap (and not the $250 Susanne’s Bridal wanted to charge me).

AND LASTLY

I added some music to my blog… I know a lot of people don’t like that; but today, I need it.  (And I know this is my blog, but yes, I do care about my readers and whether or not they are annoyed by Miley Cyrus suddenly blaring at them, capiche? haha); I need more music in my life … after all, the way I see it-

when words fail music speaks. or something.

So enjoy the music… and before you ditch this website, let me know who can sew my dress.. please and thanks!!

French Crepes, Ooh la la.

This post goes out to all 3 people who have tried a recipe of mine a time or two.  I like recipes... especially this one.  You will die.  These crepes are heaven on a fork.  Especially when a unnatural amount of berries and nutella are used.

Thanks mom for the speedy emailed recipe... sorry readers for the not-so-speedy recipe.  We enjoyed these this Christmas.. every Christmas really.  A favorite of ours- and now yours.  Oh- and this recipe is straight from a French lady my mom met- in France (i know, what are the odds)  So be. excited.

the Crepes!

The guidelines are this:

For every person you are serving, mix together

  • one egg
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • and a pinch of salt.

easy peasy.

As for the salt:  if you are feeding 4 people, that should be about 1 teaspoon of salt (so 1/4 tsp. is a pinch, get it?  Of course you do).   For this recipe, is best if you mix it in a blender and leave it in the fridge overnight.  If you don't have a blender, just mix it and leave overnight, covered.  Mix or stir in the morning, and make in a crepe, or omelet sized pan.  Put 1/4 cup of batter in a Pam-sprayed-pan or use a little butter if you don't worry about the calories (I know I don't).  Cook (flip like you would pancakes) till it looks like the picture below.  Add fruit or whatever in, roll up and enjoy.  This recipe can also be used to make dinner crepes, if that's your thing.  *Some variations on this recipe is to add a little sugar and a little vanilla for a sweet crepe.*  Sounds delightful, does it not?!

[IMG_0482[4].jpg]

...as you can see, I held back a tad on the nutella and berries on Christmas morning.  A tad might be an understatement.  Alright alright!  I am officially ashamed of that sad crepe picture.

A tale of two shoes

This semester is going to be a long one.. I can feel it in my bones.  I hate that phrase... I can feel it in my bones.  eh.

Anyway it came to my attention that it has been about 6. days. since I last blogged (if you don't count my photo blog).  What is that, 3 months in blog years?  Close enough.

So anyway... school started again.  So far it's been kind of hectic- my schedule is never set until like a week after school starts- don't ask me why.  I just can't ever get one quite the way I need/like it, I s'pose.  Part of the credit for that, however, goes to the awesome music department.  Thanks music department for making me wait in lines.  So long to "making memories" (my old title for the new peeps in town) maybe my new title should've been "making me wait in lines."  I was thinking about it and I swear 1/3 of our life is spent sleeping, another chunk is eating, and the rest is waiting.  ...Waiting rooms... the smaller waiting room- that you think means you're going to see the doctor soon... and lines.  Lines lines lines.  Nothing but lines.  Kill me. (No don't)

hmmmmn.  Tangent.

So what has little ole me been up to?  I can't really recall...  but I do recall these love-a-ley leather boots. 011

See these lovely leather boots?  They are great, no?  I had the gumption to wear them in the rain.

This pouring rain

oh and this. ..pouring... hail.

I thought for sure my $50-DSW-sale-rack-boots were goners.  It would've been a shame too, because I've only worn them once.  But I'll tell you what these bad boys survived!  I know, I know.  Thank you. I know.

And that my friends is what you call a "highlight of my week".  I know what you're thinking- *amazing* week.

And naturally there was play time with Brody... me asking him to construct me with his Mister Potato Head.   Here's what he came up with...

how's that for an ego boost.

But how's this:  thanks friends for the recent blog awards!

076

Really my week has consisted of spending time with these cute boys. Picture perfect.

Wait...

078

there we go.

That's all from me.

knott too shabby

Tony and I whisked ourselves away from it all to enjoy a few days together- just the two of us.

IMG_1564IMG_1576IMG_1573

We went back to the same place where we spent our honeymoon:  the Knott's Berry Farm Resort Hotel; and spent a couple days in the park.  The room wasn't as nice as we had before- but I didn't care.. it was an awesome deal!!

1-13-10

It was beyond crowded... just wayyy too many people I don't know how we had any fun.

1-13-10 (3)

Actually, we rode so many rides- more than my poor self could handle, really.  Most of which we just stayed strapped in and went on again because there was no one in line!  The first day it was supposed to rain, but didn't.. and the next day was warm and beautiful!  (Which, from what I recall about growing up in southern California is that it's cold this time of year- we were lucky!)

We got us tickets to Medieval Times for that evening.  We had a good hour and a half before the show started so I had time to get some pictures.

IMG_1587IMG_1580IMG_1582IMG_1611IMG_1606IMG_1628IMG_1630IMG_1635IMG_1640IMG_1654IMG_1646IMG_1657

Back to our hotel.  Hot tub. Room service.  Demented movie (Stepfather).  It was a great day...

IMG_1668IMG_1675

As if that wasn't enough fun- we did it all over again!  ..but rode more rides and ate at different places..

1-14-10 (4)1-14-101-14-10 (14)1-14-10 (12)1-14-10 (15)1-14-10 (18)1-14-10 (21)1-14-10 (24)1-14-10 (32)

Then there was.. More hot tub.  Room service.  Movie...  *sigh.  Why did it have to end...IMG_1676

The highlights were:

-skipping around the empty park (literally skipping).  Tony yelled out, "I'm in LOVE I'm in LOVE and I don't care who knows it!"  (Too bad no one witnessed it.)

-seeing my sister and her family (my new niece!)  They were the only people we had time to  visit, don't feel bad.

- watching Tony put a Band-Aid on some dudes neck to cover up his "SHUT UP!" Tattoo.  Apparently he had an interview.  baha!  That was probably the weirdest request I've ever heard..

We had a lot of fun- it was nice to come home to Brody though!  Well that, and to find out I made some more

blog friends!!

Welcome.  I hope you stick around long after the giveaway is over.  (:  Thanks to all who entered my photo giveaway.  Remember, it ends tomorrow so enter if you were planning on it and haven't yet!!

a quarter of a century is a long time

Someone got older

IMG_1477

That always seems to happen.

Happy Birthday to my BFF!!! (conveniently enough he's also my husband).

Brody loves opening "peasants" so Tony let him help.

IMG_1527 IMG_1524IMG_1534 IMG_1530IMG_1512IMG_1541copy

No, Tony didn't get shoes from Charlotte Russe (pink box above)...I just know someone would ask that so... anyway.  I kept joking about going to Joes since I'm especially obsessed with the place. And guess where Tony "really felt like going" for lunch? What a sweet husband he is...

1-11-10 (20)1-11-10 (22)

Brody wanted to run around, I wanted to let him.

1-11-10 (34)

Happy Birthday Tony, I love you!!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And as for other random things/pictures as of late...

1-2-10 (5) We look like freaks of nature in these huge 3D glasses. Why is it that when we go, we get huge, sharp, heavy plastic glasses? Other people I've seen in pictures on facebook or something are wearing 3D glasses that look like Ray bans. No fair. Whatev. Avatar was awesome although we swore we'd never see it.

And I did what you said... I cut off the tip of Brody's binky. You heard me..singular.. bink-y. So whenever he sees it he hands it to me and says "EWWWWW!" hahaha. I'll get to cutting those others soon, I promise...

Brody: "ew. no."

A random afternoon feeding the ducks..

New Years Eve, making pigs out of ourselves.

IMG_1268IMG_1269

Which reminds me... new years eve we saw Leandro Barbosa at Costco shopping for jeans! We were too stunned (I was too stunned) to ask for a picture (I know- ME?) So all we got was to say Hi and shake his hand (well Tony did- I was, like I said, too stunned. "it's... it's...) haha

There he is from a distance...

1231091249

So which reminds me... New Years Eve... Tony was so excited he pooed on the couch. OK, it's actually a junior mint- but I was like, "I have two children!"

0101000001a

I love seeing "signs that Tony's been here" around the house like...

a destroyed dish scrubber

012

(Brody saw this picture and said "eww." haha!)

and clothes that don't make it IN the hamper but on.. (I've seen worse.. this was just the picture I ended up getting when I thought about it..)

010

I love being married! (I'm serious, I do!)

Don't you love how I make fun of my husband in his own birthday post!? He's laughing too so it's all good...

And a happy day to you!
