Just having a ball

Before I get to my post... you should know a few things about me and blogging...

I can be serious but sarcastic in the same post.

I'll say dumb stuff because at the time it seems funny then I usually go back and think it's lame.

I never want to offend anyone- OR have people roll their eyes at me.  Although I roll my eyes at my self... so I guess oh well.

Anyway that's what you should know.  For some reason I just feel like saying I love having met all the new friends I have, through blogging...  and I definitely love all my friends in real life who frequent my blog.  Thanks all, for reading... really, it makes me feel happy.

One of my favorite things is to go to a ball game.  I just love the atmosphere- it's so chill.. and as long as you are rooting for the same team, you are best friends with everyone around you instantly.  Our section was passing around bags of food to share- gummy worms, cheese-its, pretzels.  It was awesome.  I didn't partake but I was still feeling the love.

"Tony... Tony!  Your tag.  Your TAG!!" 

This has to be my most shining moment ever.  Well maybe not ever... but like top 5.  Do you see it, do ya see it!?

Do you see who dat be?  Lil 'ol me and my bestie.  It was awesome, we were up for so long that I had time to notice, wave and laugh and more waves, and then finally decide to snap this picture!  Although I didn't have time to zoom and fix the exposure- but hey, I got a picture of it!  Haha look at me, I'm a FOOL!   Yeeeaah Buddy!

 

And as for the rest of the night...

See those empty seats?  Yeah, this was during the 7th inning... yup, we were leaving too.  We lost.  But HEY!  I got on the jumbotron!  I think it was because I was sporting a dbacks shirt.  I think that's it...

I'm really liking school right now.    Mostly my Piano and photography classes.  Homework:  work on the things you love (practice piana and take pictures).  Doesn't get any better than that...

Hair-do How-to

I've always wanted to become a hairstylist. Whyyyy???

Because I think I'm awesome at doing hair?!

a ha ha! (Good one)

OR because I like doing hair?!

Wrong again.

Sadly no, I am none of those things. The truth of the matter is I suck at doing hair, nor do I find it enjoyable. Wanting to become a hairdresser was for selfish reasons, really... I NEED to know how to tame this mane. (Oh, you didn't know I have naturally unfortunate curly hairs? Well. Now you do. Curse my German genes!)

SOOOoooooOoO... why do I feel qualified today to give you this little tutorial? Easy...

I don't!

But my sister asked so she shall receive...

The "Messy-side-bun"

Step one: buy these.

In my legit opinion they are the only way to do this.

Now, create a pouf. I can usually only achieve a pouf if I tease the begeesis out of it along with a sticky mess of hairspray, root lifter, and mousse.

Four or more of these used simultaneously should do the trick.

If that doesn't work maybe you should try Bump-its. I hear they work great (heh heh). If that doesn't work this hairstyle is not for you and you might as well shave your head.

Once your rats nest is poufed to your satisfaction, pull hair to the side and secure with aforementioned rubber band.

I pull it out a little for more volume.

And now for rubber band numero dos.

Somehow... with a little twisty and turny flip-of-the-wrist-action, create your bun. I'm not gonna lie, this step is annoying as hail.

It's usually a little out of control so that's where these come in.

You might love it or you might hate it. I'm not loving this one so this is where I revert back to last weeks successful messy-side-bun picture.Before you go, check my wiggity whack fingers in this picture! Sawweeet.

Now insert flower, if you feel so inclined.

Some Bidness

Back in the day, last semester, I had an assignment to write a research paper.  I chose the topic of internet safety.  Boring- but important.  We needed twelve thousand sources so I was racking my brain trying to come up with enough info.  Then it dawned on me that I could do an interview... and who better to ask than my friend Lauren.  Busy bee Lauren! You know you read her blog.   I thought what she had to say was very interesting and helpful.  It's about time I share it with you.  {I care about YOUR internet safety...and so does she... be careful out there my friends}

Do you feel blogging is risky? Why/Why not?
Yes. Most definitely. I would be more nervous if I had children, because I have had friends whose children's pictures were stolen by a child pornography site. I think "Mommy Bloggers" need to be aware, and refrain from posting their last name, and the number one...to not post naked pictures of their children, no matter how cute the picture might be. I have already decided that once I have children, I will have a separate family blog that is private. it is all about protecting your family.
Do you feel Myspace/Facebook are safe sites?
I think Facebook is a bit more safe than Myspace, but they all seem a little scary. So much information is shared and virtually anyone can access that information through a Google search. I remember once, my friend texted cha-cha "who is Lauren *********?" and it gave her all sorts of information about me, through my facebook account, via google. And my facebook is even private! It made me rethink about how much is too much information to share on the internet.
If you have had any experiences that made you scared of the internet, what were they?
I once had a person search for my maiden name, then look up my parents in the white pages to find their address. They then google-mapped their house and then looked up the schools I went to, "to imagine what it would be like to grow up with me." They admitted all of this on my blog. it was really scary.
Have you felt threatened?
I have had threats via my Twilight blog, and at the time it seemed scary, but looking back, it is sort of laughable. I think if you don't give out where you live, your last name, and where you will be at certain times of the day, you will be ok.
Do you feel that getting in trouble/danger online is something you/someone can prevent?
Of course. Here are my rules to blogging:
1. Don't give out your last name. EVER. People don't need that information.
2. Only post pictures of you and your family, FULLY clothed. I already mentioned not posting naked pictures of your children, but remember yourself too. I have seen pictures of women breast feeding their child. I have seen pictures of a couple in a bath tub together, covered in bubbles. Too much information...no matter how lighthearted and innocent their intentions were.
3. Don't post itineraries. If you will be out of town, don't say when you are leaving and where you are going. One, someone could rob your house. Two, someone could stalk you to the place you will be.Thank you Lauren for helping me with my research.  I'm not a fan of going private so if you aren't either, be smart online!

So... it's all good that you've been well over the hill for a decade now.  (According to Tony, anyway... who thinks its at 40.  I always thought over the hill was at 50.  Does anyone know which it is??)

At any rate, Happy 50th Birthday!  You really haven't changed a bit.

A Brody only weekend

This past weekend was perfect for me.  Somehow our new computer stopped working and I'm pretty sure it's because of me.  For those just joining in you should probably know....

So with my computer broken, and Tony completely out of the house for the weekend, I decided to spend every waking moment with Brody. {Tony was in California with his company.  BUT more about that later...}  I guess you can say I tried to make up some time I feel like I've missed since school started again.

By the way I took 501 pictures of the weekend but don't worry I only posted a few several
